NOW ADAYS TITHES

My boy friend gave me #70,000 to buy Brazilian hair on saturday and i forgot to buy it and on sunday service in the church we were ask to pay tithe and i remove the 10th percent  from the money to pay as my tithe is it a SIN?   I need more like, comments and share on this issue it causing misunderstanding. thanks
